James V. Dunford, MD
Dr. Dunford is the Medical Director of the City of San Diego and a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UCSD Medical Center.
Karen McElliott, our Heart Beat Angel and Chief AED Advocate was one of the driving forces in pulling together a partnership of the city and county of San Diego, San Diego Services Medical Enterprise and Cardiac Science Corporation to help back and support the program.
Maureen O'Connor, is our Program Coordinator and the Manager of Project Heart Beat. Maureen’s passion is apparent in the success of San Diego Project Heart Beat. Maureen and her team members have helped bring the dream and foresight of Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) and Early Access Defibrillation programs into fruition within the communities of San Diego County saving 55 lives to date and deploying nearly 3,400 Automatic External Defibrillator’s (AEDs)
Dan Beebe is in charge of the AHA Training Center. Dan arranges courses throughout the region to instruct people in the proper use of AEDs and CPR delivery. Dan also trains and manages our Project Heart Beat Instructors in these valuable life saving techniques.
Loralee OlejnikLoralee Olejnik (pronounced o-lay-nick) currently serves as the Community Relations Specialist for San Diego Medical Services Enterprise (SDMSE) and its public access defibrillation program, Project Heart Beat.
Bullard Barbara is the Office Manager for our nationally recognized Public Access Defibrillator Program.
